MiriATE is a proven automated testing and control environment for consumer devices, such as set-top boxes and integrated digital TV’s. MiriATE also provides the capability to test the services delivered via these devices.

For effective testing, it is critical that the test methodologies and systems are designed to provide the diagnostic information required to analyse the faults.
MiriATE provides objective measurements during testing: all actions are either scripted or random inputs ‘recorded’ and the resulting screen images or output values are captured. This supports replication of faults encountered, meeting key needs for good testing:
• Repeatable: database storage and retrieval of scripts provides for frequent and consistent testing.
• Verifiable: test outputs (including image captures) are logged for QA verification or off-line analysis.

MiriATE video analysis includes image comparison, region analysis, colour detection, motion detection and OCR (Optical Character Recognition).
MiriATE test execution is clearly illustrated through script walk-through animation and graphical overlays on the screen output showing the regions of the video output being measured. MiriATE test result notification and test reports are clearly presented to aid comprehension and analysis
