MiriATE® provides an automated testing environment for consumer devices, such as set top boxes.
The benefits of automating the execution of test are:
• Labour saving
• Repeatable: allowing frequent and consistent regression testing. This addresses the common problem that fixing one fault introduces another: taking one step forward and two steps back. With regular regression testing you can identify when new faults appear, which assists with fault analysis. Regression testing allows you to ‘ratchet’ device quality up.
• Scalable: allowing devices to be tested through a large number of event cycles e.g. channel changes. This will test for faults that may not otherwise appear until the device is deployed to the subscriber.
